Slide valves, as fluid control devices, are widely used in industrial piping systems, primarily for cutting off, distributing, and regulating the flow of media. Based on their structural design, drive method, sealing type, and applicable operating conditions, slide valves can be classified into various types to meet the needs of different process conditions. Structurally, slide valves are mainly divided into straight-through slide valves and angle slide valves. Straight-through slide valves have a straight flow path, resulting in lower resistance when the medium passes through, making them suitable for applications requiring low flow resistance and high flow capacity. Angle slide valves, on the other hand, have an L-shaped flow path and are often used in piping systems where the direction of media flow needs to be changed, especially suitable for installation environments with limited space or requiring detours. According to the drive method, slide valves can be divided into manual slide valves, pneumatic slide valves, electric slide valves, and hydraulic slide valves. Manual sliding plate valves rely on manual operation of handwheels or handles for opening and closing. They are simple in structure, low in cost, and suitable for small-diameter or infrequently operated applications. Pneumatic sliding plate valves use compressed air to drive the actuator, offering fast response and high control precision, making them suitable for highly automated systems. Electric sliding plate valves utilize motor drives, enabling remote control and programmed operation, suitable for centralized control in complex conditions. Hydraulic sliding plate valves rely on hydraulic power, providing high output torque, and are suitable for high-pressure, large-diameter valve control scenarios. In terms of sealing structure, sliding plate valves can be divided into soft-seal and hard-seal types. Soft seals typically use elastic materials such as rubber or PTFE as the sealing pair, offering excellent sealing performance and achieving zero leakage, suitable for normal temperature, low pressure, and clean media conditions. Hard seals use a metal-to-metal sealing method, offering high temperature resistance, wear resistance, and strong erosion resistance, suitable for harsh conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, and environments containing particles or strong corrosion. Furthermore, based on the valve plate's movement, they can also be divided into linear motion sliding plate valves and rotary sliding plate valves. The former achieves opening and closing through the linear axial movement of the valve plate, resulting in a stable structure and reliable sealing; the latter completes the opening and closing through rotation, offering flexible operation and a smaller footprint. In some specialized applications, sliding plate valves with scraper functions have been developed to remove deposits adhering to the valve seat during opening and closing, keeping the passage clean, making them particularly suitable for conveying slurries and dusty media. Overall, the diverse designs of sliding plate valves allow them to adapt to a wide range of applications, from conventional to extreme conditions, playing a vital role in various industries such as power, metallurgy, chemical, building materials, and environmental protection.
