A floating type ball valve uses a ball that floats slightly off its stem axis: line pressure pushes the ball against the downstream seat, creating a tight, self-energized seal. The design is simple and compact, with few moving parts, so maintenance is straightforward and total cost of ownership stays low. A full-bore straight-through port gives near-full pipe bore with minimal flow resistance and no pockets for product buildup. Two seat options cover different duties: PTFE soft seats deliver Class VI shut-off on clean, ambient fluids such as water, gas, and oil, while metal hard seats extend the valve to high-temperature oil and steam service. Flanged, threaded, and wafer ends are available, and smaller bodies can be fitted with pneumatic or electric actuators for automated on-off.
For isolation valves bought in volume, consistency across the batch matters as much as unit price. We keep large stock of standard cast bodies in WCB, 304, 316L, and ductile iron in common sizes, so repeat orders come off the same body castings and seat geometries rather than a new pattern each time.
