A Smart Electric Actuator is an electrically driven valve drive built around a digital mainboard, an LCD local display and a high-resolution position sensor, eliminating the need for a separate servo amplifier. A 4-20 mA control signal is accepted directly, and the mainboard also speaks HART and RS485 Modbus so the unit drops into a plant DCS or PLC network for remote setpoint, valve-position feedback and diagnostics. The LCD shows current opening, setpoint and fault codes on site, while the digital electronics run self-diagnostics and protect the valve through loss-of-signal action (hold, open or closed selectable), over-temperature protection and stall/overload protection. The range covers both quarter-turn output (0~90°) and linear thrust output (20~100 mm travel), with control accuracy around ±0.3% of full scale. A local manual override lets operators hand-drive the valve on power loss, and a remote/local selector switch keeps commissioning and field operation safe. The enclosure is rated IP67, with an optional Ex d II BT4 explosion-proof version for hazardous areas.
Buyers integrating electric actuators into a DCS usually need two things generic catalog actuators cannot offer: a communication protocol matched to their control network, and an explosion-proof or cold-climate variant without a long outsourcing chain.
